Lone Star Art District, 2nd Saturday,
San Antonio, Texas

On every 2nd Saturday of each month, Comminos Studio along with artists and studios located within the Lone Star Art District opened their galleries for public viewing. 2nd Saturday became a venue bringing awareness to the arts and art community within the city of San Antonio, Texas.

Blue Star Contemporary "Love Bench"

Love Bench was a commissioned public art by NRP Realty Group. The bench was to be placed on the property of a senior - assisted living facility owned by NRP. Local high school students participating in the gifted arts program at Blue Star, designed, assembled and installed the bench. Alex Comminos along with Alex Rubio of Blue Star, guided students to design the bench, create ceramic tiles and assemble the foam-concrete bench structure.

Blue Star Contemporary, HEB Mosaic

A ceramic mural was to be installed on the store front of a local HEB grocery store. High school students participating in the gifted arts program at Blue Star designed and created the mosaic tiles for the project. Alex Comminos along with Alex Rubio of Blue Star coordinated the installation of the mosaic.

The South Texas Showdown,
South Texas College - Weslaco, Texas

Chris Lenoard, Instructor of Art hosts this event on the campus of South Texas College.  Alex Comminos participated in the event conducting a live art creation and demonstration.

Upper Valley Art League, Mission Texas

The Upper Valley Art League invited Alex Comminos to conduct a set of ceramic workshops.

Three work shops included: 1. Fabrication and glazing. 2. Alternative methods (using a barbecue grill to fire), and  3. Raku, technique of taking a hot fired piece and introduce combustibles to change color and surface of the ceramic piece.
