Create something.  Make something.

An idea without realization becomes a dream.

- Alex Comminos -

As an educator, Alex imparts to his students, ceramic art is the physical expression of one’s emotional and creative soul and reveals the ability of one to express thoughts through words or deed.

The making of ceramic art requires tactile skill and intellectual depth. Alex teaches creative “courage.”  Every artist needs courage to avoid perpetual analysis, too much information and research may hinder creativity. Every artist needs courage to make decisions and execute a strategy. Every artist needs courage to adjust the strategy. Alex encourages his students to evaluate, assess and adjust their creative process if the result does not meet their expectation.  And finally every artist needs courage to accept responsibility for failure and the courage to share success. Alex believes we all learn by doing.

Student work reflects the individual's desire to create functional, decorative or conceptual art.
